Katia LouiseProducer, director & screenwriter, actress; Katia Louise is an international award winning filmmaker whose most recent film, SAVING AMERICA’S HORSES A NATION BETRAYED has won many prestigious awards including Best in Festival at the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival and the RBC Best Environmental Film Award in Canada.
"Timing is pivotal, with the ongoing elimination of our wild horses from the rangelands and the heighten efforts by foreign investors to reopen horse slaughter plants in the U.S.; more and more horses are at risk of cruel and barbaric slaughter,” says Katia Louise. Katia founded Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF), an all volunteer nonprofit charity dedicated to protecting, saving and preserving equines, to see that lifesaving stewardship is provided to horses in need. As an active philanthropist Katia Louise also serves as the volunteer Executive Director of WFLF. She founded its Saving America’s Horses Initiative; a coalition comprised of the nation’s foremost equine welfare professionals, and oversees its humane educational program. Katia says her inspiration comes from her deep connection and passion for horses. “I was blessed to have horses in my life since I was a young girl. They keep me grounded, close to nature and have taught me much about loyalty, respect and forgiveness. These are some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in life,” she says. “We are part of nature, we’re all connected and without nature our world would cease to exist.” In tribute to the horse nation and make the world a better place, Katia has created what’s become one of the most anticipated cause driven films of its time. Katia’s film, A NATIONBETRAYED; hailed as a life changing experience, is getting rave reviews. “My goal is to share the special love, joy and healing that only a horse can provide to people and also bring forth the truth about practices which should have ended in the dark ages.” In the true spirit of philanthropy, Katia has donated the copyrights of her landmark film to charity so that any proceeds from its public release can further benefit the horses. Katia has dedicated her life to this cause. She continues her volunteer work to help bring this important resource to public release where it can fully effect social change. This powerful and compelling resource is enlightening, engaging and empowering movie goers through the festival circuit, but that’s not enough Katia says. “The public has been duped and they deserve to know the truth.” Saving America's Horses illuminates the connection between the environment, the eradication of our wild and domestic equines and the future of humanity. Katia says, “It’s about the majesty of the horse, the freedom they represent, the value of that freedom and what it means to life.” Katia asks supporters to take part in the legacy of our future; help create a better world tomorrow for our horses, the environment and humanity. www.SavingAmericasHorses.org. |
